Poignant points and an awesome style of writing.

If only we could have an answer. Perhaps by declaring another yojana in the name of (pick your choice) : Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru?

As an aside, it baffles me and to some point irritates too at the logic behind naming of schemes.

A simple google search tells me that over 450 government schemes and institutions (central and state) active today have been named after the three dignitaries mentioned above. Why it is being done is obvious. But why can this not be stopped is intriguingly frustrating. And if we were to wonder how many schemes are named after Mahatma Gandhi (not that you have to, but just as a benchmark of respecting our so-called-leaders). The answer is none. Only last month after being questioned in the parliament, did the Government decide to prefix the above mentioned name to National Rural Employement Guarantee Act.

Why can’t National Solar Mission be just called that and not Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission? When will this supposedly covert but flagrantly stupid political-propaganda stop? And if they choose not to stop by themselves, when and if at all, will they be stopped by law?

I am curious. And waiting. And am sure, so are many…

May the future belong to the ones who find solutions.

The constraints are always there. And it’s easy to believe that we are not the ones to solve these problems. There is a government; there are leaders. And so on. But then, there is also us. And really, what are we doing about it?

I look to the stars above.

I wrote this for my nephews, Aadi Achu. Perhaps they are too small to understand this. And as they grow, they’ll realise how poor a piece of poetry this is.
But somewhere in between, one thing they can always claim. That their chitappa (uncle) wrote this for them … My big hug to ‘em. Love !

Waking up with a smile

When the first rays arrived,
And the birds sang their song,
I smiled in my sleep.
And searched for you around.

I wished I’d be woken up,
By your hugs and that gentle scream.
Some mornings I was your horse,
And in some, was made your slave.
All those were the best mornings that ever came.

How well I know that you are not here,
And my hands would find none, I fear.
With a tinge of sadness I’d arise,
In hope again, my tears I’ll guise.

I wish you could hear the laughter inside.

Set yourself a goal.

Set yourself a deadline.

Define success at the start.

Make a plan to make it happen.

Build a team to help you.

Get the team to sign up, head and heart, to the plan.

Understand there will be hurdles, barriers. Accept them. But defeat them.

Work each day toward getting things done. A little can do a lot.

Keep the end goal in your mind at all times.

Understand the importance of your energy. Your stubbornness. Your persistence.

Half way through a project is always the lowest point. You are neither at the start, nor at the end. Energy dips, morale is low. Have a day off.

The next day remind yourself why you started it in the first place.

Focus. Focus. Focus. But focus on the most important thing.

Tell the world what you are doing.

Tell the world your deadline.

Celebrate progress. Any progress.

Never give up.

Look back at how far you have traveled. It will surprise you.

It will also tell you that you are closer to your goal than ever before.

Keep going.

Then one day, after many, many days, you will complete your goal.

You got there in the end.

Your words and your deeds are one. Most people in life are just talkers. But you are a doer. Well done.
